A Bloomingdale man was killed in a three-car crash Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Route 38 and Garfield Road.
At approximately 12:38 p.m., officers from the Campton Hills Police Department responded to the crash. One of the drivers, Alexander Pendzinski, 29, of Bloomingdale, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second driver, Julie Sobieski, of Campton Hills, was extricated from the vehicle she was driving and was flown by helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Her condition is not known at this time, according to a news release from the Campton Hills Police Department.
The third vehicle was driven by Alfredo Paulino-Enriquez of Elburn. He was not injured in crash, the release stated.
Pendzinski’s vehicle was going westbound on Route 38 and was passing Paulino-Enriquez’ vehicle, according to the release. Pendzinski’s vehicle then struck Sobieski’s vehicle, which was going eastbound at the time of the crash, the release stated.
The Campton Hills Police Department was assisted by the Elburn Police Department, Kane County Sheriff and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.
The crash is under investigation and the Campton Hills Police Department is asking that anyone witnessing the crash to contact officers at 630-584-0330.
