Wasco Diamonds softball celebrates 25 years with weekend celebration

The Wasco Diamonds girls’ fastpitch softball program is celebrating its 25th anniversary with two events in August.

According to a news release, current and former players, coaches and trainers, as well as their families, are invited to attend.

The events are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 and Sunday, Aug. 15 at Anderson Park, 5N180 Brown Road, Wasco.

On Saturday, a free 10C-12C softball clinic will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon, with a food truck serving Mexican fare from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Sunday, an 18U Wasco Diamonds game will kick off at 10 a.m., followed by a food truck serving burgers and BBQ.

The organization was founded by Joe Garbarski, who also served as head coach and president, in 1996.
