Sledders enjoy Johnson’s Mound hill following first winter snowstorm

Saturday’s snowstorm blanketed most of northern Illinois, including the big sledding hill at the Kane County Forest Preserve District’s Johnson’s Mound Forest Preserve near Elburn.

On Sunday afternoon sledders of all ages were out in full force under bright and sunny skies, enjoying the hill on sleds, slides and tubes for the first time this winter.

As long as the snow remains, the hill is open daily from sunrise to sunset.

Johnson’s Mound Forest Preserve is located at 41W600 Hughes Road.
