Batavia boys soccer senior Connor Verde, who scored two goals to help Batavia to a 4-2 victory over Kaneland, their first in 28 games, was voted as the Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week.

Since she was young, Burlington Central goalkeeper Mackenzie Lorkowski has aspired to play professional soccer. On Aug. 23, Lorkowski announced her commitment to NCAA Division-I Louisiana Tech.

For the second consecutive season, Geneva and St. Charles North went back and forth before ending their game in a 2-2 tie.
