The Benet, Kaneland and York boys basketball teams traveled to Champaign this weekend to represent their schools in the IHSA state championships.

Kaneland lost to Deerfield Friday afternoon in overtime in the IHSA Class 3A state championship semifinal game in the State Farm Center at the University of Illinois in Champaign.

Softball season is underway. Here are five Kane County storylines to watch for the 2026 season.

Kaneland junior Angelina Gochis, who went 31-2 and became the fifth girls wrestler to win three state titles, is the Kane County Chronicle Girls Wrestler of the Year.

St. Charles East senior Dom Munaretto, who finished with a 52-0 record on the season, won his third state title and became the second-winningest wrestler in IHSA history, is the Kane County Chronicle Boys Wrestler of the Year.
The Kaneland boys basketball team met Morton Monday night in a Class 3A supersectional in the Convocation Center at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

Crystal Lake South faces Kaneland during the IHSA Class 3A Woodstock North Sectional final boys basketball game on Friday, March 6, 2025, at Woodstock North High School.

Johnsburg defeated Aurora Christian 51-47 in the Class 2A Sectional semifinals on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Mendota High School.
