The Kendall County Health Department reported the deaths of two more county residents due to COVID-19 in its weekly report on the virus issued March 24.
The number of county residents who have died from the virus since the onset of the pandemic in March of 2020 is now 160, according to health department data.
In addition, the health department reported the test positivity rate for the virus among county residents continues to creep higher.
On March 11, the health department reported the county’s test positivity rate stood at 2.1%. The following week, March 17, the test positivity rate was reported at 2.8%. This past Thursday, the test positivity rate was listed at 3.5%,
The number of county residents to become fully vaccinated also continues to rise.
The health department report shows that 112 more county residents became fully vaccinated between March 17 and March 24. Those additional vaccinated residents serve to increase the total number of county residents to be fully vaccinated to 86,995 or 68.01% of the county’s total population.
In a related matter, the Illinois Department of Public Heath reported March 23 that 75.73% of the population in the Plainfield 60585 ZIP code are now fully vaccinated. The 60585 ZIP code extends into east central Kendall County.

Aurora, 60503: 73.10%
Oswego, 60543: 69.43%
Yorkville, 60560: 68.56%
Montgomery, 60538: 65.52%
Plano, 60545: 61.16%
The Newark 60541 ZIP code continues to have the lowest percentage of the population in the Kendall County area to be fully vaccinated. As of March 23, the IDPH listed just 38.74% of the population as fully vaccinated.
