Two taken to hospital with minor injuries following bus crash near Yorkville

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Wednesday afternoon in the Yorkville area after a vehicle rear-ended a Plano school bus.

The collision happened about 2 p.m. near the intersection of Eldamain Road and Fox Court, in Fox Township.

Deputy Dan Briars said a driver and two students were on-board the school bus at the time of the collision were the driver and two students.

“The driver of the school bus and one student were transported with minor injuries to a local hospital,” Briars said. “The driver of the vehicle was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.”

Briars said the bus driver and the 15-year-old student were taken to the hospital out of an abundance of caution.
