Oswego firefighters respond to garage fire

Car where fire began a total loss

The Oswego Fire Protection District were dispatched on Dec. 14 to a car fire that spread into an attached garage fire, threatening the adjourning living residence.

Fire crews responded at 9:10 a.m. to the 500 block of Woodland Way, Oswego, finding a fully involved car fire in the driveway as well as a fire in the attached garage, according to a news release from the Oswego Fire Department.

The firefighter units were able to bring the fires under control in 15 minutes, preventing the flames from reaching and damaging the living space of the residence, according to the release.

Firefighters confirmed that all occupants were out of the residence. The vehicle involved is a total loss and the garage has extensive damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but the department says the causes do not appear to be suspicious in nature, according to the release.

There are no reported injuries to any civilians or firefighters, according to the release.
