A Yorkville man, recently a substitute teacher in Yorkville School District 115, was charged on Thursday, Dec. 19 with indecent solicitation of a child, aggravated criminal sexual abuse, and traveling to meet a minor, according to a news release from the Yorkville Police Department.
According to the release, the charges followed an investigation that began Dec. 12 after a delayed report of a criminal sexual assault occurring in August. During the investigation, it was established that Minogue was employed as a substitute teacher with the Yorkville school district, according to the release.
On Dec. 19, the Yorkville Police made contact with Minogue during an additional investigation and during this interaction was charged with traveling to meet a minor, according to the release. Minogue was taken into custody and transported to the Kendall County Jail without incident, the release stated.
He will remain in custody until his court appearance on Dec. 20, according to the release.
According to a news release from the Yorkville School District 115, Minogue “had limited interaction with students during his time as a substitute and has not been in a school with children since Dec. 9, 2024.”
Yorkville Police Department first contacted the district on Dec. 12 regarding their investigation involving a school district substitute, according to the school’s release.
Minogue began as a student teacher with the district in August 2024, according to the release. It also states that he was under certified staff supervision during that time.
“We have had no reports of any crime taking place in Yorkville School District buildings,” the release states.
Minogue has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of the court cases, according to the school district’s release.
