The Foxes, despite playing without one of their top players Lainey Gussman, beat the Spartans to finish 2-2 at the Sandburg Holiday Classic.

Brooke Spychalski scored 25 points and Madi Spychalski 15 for Yorkville.

Boys Basketball

Oswego East 64, Wheaton Academy 53

Mason Lockett had 15 points, 13 rebounds and six assists, Michael Rembert added 13 points and Damien Lewandowski 11 for the Wolves at the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Downers Grove South 70, Yorkville 53

Frankie Pavlik scored 14 points and Christian Harrell 13 for the Foxes at the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic.

Metea Valley 77, Oswego 59

Ethan Vahl scored 18 points and Dasean Patton 11 for Oswego at the State Farm Holiday Classic.

Mendota 43, Sandwich 40

Dom Rome scored 21 points for Sandwich in the consolation championship game of the Plano Christmas Classic.

Plano 73, Morris 68

Alan Contreras scored 14 points and Ethan Taxis added 12 for the Reapers in the 11th-place game at the Plano Christmas Classic.

Hinckley-Big Rock 66, Newark 62

Dylan Long scored 29 points and Payton Wills added 15 for Newark in the 13th-place game at the Plano Christmas Classic.

Girls Bowling

Oswego

The Panthers finished seventh out of 20 teams with a total pinfall of 5,314 at the Mid-State Tournament at Landmark Lanes in Peoria

Leading the team was junior Sunnie Bowker who shot 1,121 and averaged 187 for the six games. Bowker finished in 23rd place and was the only Panther to finish in the top 25 individually. Another junior, Samantha Watson, finished with a 1,095 total which was good for 26th place.

Swimming

Oswego Co-Op

Oswego won the overall team championship at the Waubonsie Valley Pentathlon. Ethan Schrader was first overall, Chase Meier second and Owen Lippoldt third.

Meier won the 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle and Schrader won the 100 breaststroke.
