Longtime Oswego restaurant Danelli’s for sale for $450K

Restaurant closed Dec. 29 after owners retired

The building that housed longtime Oswego restaurant Danelli’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria for almost 40 years is for sale for $450,000.

The restaurant, located at 228 E. Washington St. in Oswego, closed its doors on Dec. 29 following the retirement of owners John and Chris Daniels. Danelli’s had been in business for 45 years.

The sale of the 1,700-square-foot building is being handled by john greene Realtor. The restaurant’s name comes with the sale.

“With the help of a long tenured staff, a fanatically loyal customer base, and an increasing demand for locally owned restaurants in Oswego, Danelli’s is well positioned for continued growth,” according to the listing for the building. “Or bring your own concept to thrive in this prime location between a growing downtown Oswego and Route 34.”

According to the listing, the building’s price reflects the value of the property and business. Business assets will be transferred via asset purchase agreement, according to the listing.

The building includes a 12 table dining room and bar, front patio with three tables and a fully equipped kitchen with two pizza ovens. Danelli’s has been at its current location since 1985.

Before that, it had been at a smaller location near the Fox River in Oswego.

“We want to thank you all for all the wonderful years and beautiful friendships we have formed over the past 45 years,” the owners said in announcing their retirement on the restaurant’s Facebook page. “The laughter and all the memories we will cherish. You were all an integral part of our journey and your overwhelming support meant the world to us.”
