This marks the 21st consecutive year the village has achieved this recognition.

“We take great pride in our fiscal responsibility and transparent financial management,” said Mayor Matt Brolley in a news release from the village. “Achieving this milestone for 21 years in a row speaks to the dedication of our staff and the trust of our community. We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards in managing public funds.”

The audit, conducted by Lauterbach & Amen, once again provided a clean opinion, with no new recommendations for improvements.

Key highlights from the Fiscal Year 2024 report include:

  • Improved Financial Position: The village ended the fiscal year with a fund balance of $1.5 million higher than the prior year.
  • Positive Long-Term Trends: A decade of trend information further underscores the village’s robust financial standing.
  • Certificate of Achievement: For the 21st consecutive year, the Village was honored with the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
