With checks in hand, the Yorkville Knights of Columbus presented the proceeds from their “Tootsie Roll Sales” to two local nonprofits.
On Jan. 8, the Knights awarded the Illinois Special Olympics of Kendall County and Equine Dreams, of Newark, each a check worth $4,500.
The proceeds were collected during the Knights’ annual Intellectual Disability Charity Drive.
Equine Dreams provides therapeutic horse-assisted activities to both children and adults with special needs.
The Yorkville Knights also celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce at their new meeting facilities, located at 205 Beaver St., Yorkville.
