With the National Weather Service predicting single digit temperatures and windchills plummeting to minus 28, several Kendall County school districts have scheduled e-learning days for Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Oswego School District 308 announced emergency learning plans for classes Tuesday. The district website has packets available for elementary students and schedules for higher grades to follow. A decision regarding high school sports will be made before 10 a.m. Tuesday, while all elementary and junior high afterschool activities have been canceled, according a letter on the district website. Also canceled are Kids Connection programing and any facility rentals.
Plano School District 88 students will have an e-learning day Tuesday. All afterschool sports and activities have been canceled, according to a post on the district’s Facebook page. Parents and students are instructed to look at their building’s requirements for e-learning days.
Sandwich School District 430 has canceled classes Tuesday due to the weather, along with all afterschool activities.
“Please stay warm and we plan to see everyone back at school on Wednesday, January 22nd. Any further updates will be sent and posted as needed,” district superintendent Thomas Sodaro posted on the district’s Facebook page.
Students in Yorkville School District 115 were already off Tuesday for a scheduled teacher institute day.
