The Panthers and Foxes will host the sixth annual “Out for Blood” Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 at Yorkville High School, as part of the 14th annual Hoops for Hope/Communities vs. Cancer event.
Community members from both Oswego and Yorkville are encouraged to come out and support this life-saving cause.
In addition to donating blood, attendees can participate in a bake sale, register to become a bone marrow donor and enter raffles for a chance to win a variety of gift baskets and exciting prizes.
Six basketball games, featuring all levels of the girls’ and boys’ programs from both Oswego and Yorkville, also will be held, with fun contests during game breaks and halftime.
At 3 p.m., a special ceremony will recognize and honor cancer fighters and survivors, providing a moment of inspiration and reflection for all those involved.
While walk-ins are always welcome, organizers urge those planning to donate blood to schedule an appointment online in advance, as there is currently a critical need for donations.
Donors are asked to enter through Door 19 at Yorkville High School.
