Soil science to take center stage at Hilltop Gardeners’ February program at Oswego library

The next meeting of the Hilltop Gardeners Garden Club will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Oswego Public Library, located at 32 W. Jefferson St. in downtown Oswego.

The program “Soil, Can You Dig It?” will be presented by Rolfe Jaremus. It will focus on the soils that exist in the area.

Attendees will learn about the kinds of soil, soil formation, soil characteristics, soil PH, soil amendments and what they can do to make their garden more inviting for plants.

The meeting opens at 9 a.m. with social time and the program following at 9:30 a.m.

There is no cost to attend, and the public is invited to attend. All skill levels of gardeners are welcome.
