Kaneland Regional

Yorkville just beat out Oswego East to win the Kaneland Regional Friday for the Foxes' first regional title in program history.

Yorkville bowled a 5,676 total, with Oswego East second (5,658) second and Oswego (5,560) third.

Sophomore Haylie Sloniker was high bowler for Yorkville with a 1,271 and freshman Alison Sloniker bowled a 1,036.

Maya Santeliz had Oswego East’s high game of 1,253 and Kathryn Schmudde a 1,017. Rhiannon Reynolds and Sunnie Bowker each bowled an 1,184 for Oswego.

Girls Basketball

Plano 63, Harvard 26

Josie Larson scored 26 points and Nylah Matthews added 18 for Plano (24-4, 10-2).

Sandwich 50, Woodstock North 37

Bailey Frieders scored 20 points and Hannah Treptow chipped in 11 for Sandwich. Mia Geltz nailed some key free-throws down the stretch and finished with eight points.

Boys Basketball

Yorkville Christian 86, East Dubuque 63

Noah Aguado had 26 points and 20 rebounds, Jayden Riley scored 18 points and Tray Alford 14 for the Mustangs (18-10).
