High school sports roundup for Thursday, Dec. 9: Led by Lani Breedlove’s high series, Oswego bowlers stay unbeaten

GIRLS BOWLING

Oswego 2,370, Plainfield East 2,040

Oswego’s Lani Breedlove shot the high series of 590, as the Panthers took all 10 points in the match at Bowlero to remain undefeated. Oswego improved with every game, rolling team scores of 697, 780, and 893. Evelyn James (440) had a steady night and was the second high series for Oswego followed by Lexi Dellaca and Amber Lymenstull who both shot 432 series.  Also contributing to the Panther victory were Katelyn Watson (421) and Sydney Kuntzman (409). 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Newark 70, Hiawatha 14

Reese Heap had 10 points and 11 rebounds, Taylor Kruser 11 points and four rebounds and Kellie Snyder 10 points, six rebounds and six steals for Newark (6-2, 2-0).

Minooka 44, Yorkville 33

Alex Stewart scored 10 points and Karson Davey added seven for the Foxes (1-9, 0-4).

WRESTLING

Plainfield North 56, Oswego 12

Oswego winners included Joseph Griffin (152), Noel Alvarez (170) and Cruz Ibarra (195).

Sycamore 54, Sandwich 21

Sandwich winners included Miles Corder (126), Evan Reilly (138), Nolan Bobee (145) and Alex Alfaro (182).
