Yorkville sophomore Owen Horeni, who took fourth place in the Class 3A 800-meter run at the IHSA state meet in May, is the Record Newspapers boys track and field Athlete of the Year.

Yorkville sophomore Owen Horeni battled a tough field to finish fourth in the 800, Oswego freshman Dontrell Young was fifth in the 400 and Yorkville jumper Taelor Clements, Oswego East's 4x800 relay and Sandwich junior Simeion Harris took seventh at state.
