Newark senior Kiara Wesseh, who won her second consecutive Class 1A state high jump title and took fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and fifth in the 100 hurdles and 4x200 relay at the IHSA state track and field meet, is the Record Newspapers Athlete of the Week in an online vote.
Newark's Kiara Wesseh medaled in all four events, including a second consecutive win in the high jump, and Sandwich's Sundara Weber won the 3,200, along with other results from Day 2 of the IHSA girls track and field state championships.
