Damaged estimated at $250,000 in Oswego house fire

A fire caused an estimated $250,000 in damage to a home on Oswego’s west side late Saturday night, Jan. 22.

In a statement, the Oswego Fire Protection District reported that firefighters were summoned to the blaze at 10:30 p.m. in the 0-100 block of Willowwood Drive North, just north of Mill Road, east of Orchard Road.

Firefighters found heavy fire on the second floor of the two-story residence, extending into the attic.

Firefighters contained the fire to the home and rapidly brought it under control, the fire district said.

No injuries were reported to the occupants or fire district personnel.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to the fire district.

Oswego firefighters were assisted at the scene by firefighters from the Plainfield Fire Protection District. Also the Plainfield, Sugar Grove and Bristol-Kendall fire districts provided station coverage for Oswego as they battled the blaze.
