An unknown number of guns were stolen during an Aug. 12 burglary at the Plano Rural King, police said.

Plano police responded to a burglar alarm that went off at 10:44 p.m., on Aug. 12, at Rural King, 15606 Walter Payton Memorial Highway, according to a news release from the department.

When police arrived, they found that the front window and door of the store had been damaged. Police determined that three men broke into the Rural King store, but were gone before they arrived.

Plano Police Department Lt. Norm Allison later confirmed that “an unknown amount of firearms” had been taken during the break-in.

Police are still working to determine the monetary value of the firearms, and are in the process of obtaining additional security footage to gather more information on the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.
