Award-winning author to launch book at Lake Villa Library District event

Event to include reading by Matthew Cordell

Award-winning author and illustrator Matthew Cordell will unveil his latest picture book, “To See an Owl,” at 2 p.m. Jan. 12 at Lake Villa District Library.

LINDENHURST – Award-winning author and illustrator Matthew Cordell will unveil his latest picture book “To See an Owl” at 2 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Lake Villa District Library.

The event will feature a reading by Cordell, along with stories about his birding adventures.

Attendees will have the chance to receive a limited-edition signed print (available while supplies last). Copies of “To See an Owl” also will be available for purchase and signing, courtesy of The Book Stall.

Cordell is best known for winning the prestigious Caldecott Medal in 2018 for “Wolf in the Snow.” In 2020, he wrote and illustrated “Hello Neighbor! The Kind and Caring World of Mister Rogers,” the only authorized picture book about Fred Rogers.
