Save-A-Pet to host 50th anniversary concert

Dr. Mark and the Sutures to perform at event that includes raffle, buffet

Other local businesses have hopped on the vibranium bandwagon as well. Lindy’s Landing Marina and Restaurant on Main Street in Wauconda has created a vibranium cocktail and has updated its marquee to read “Vibranium sold here; Wakanda forever.” Lindy's sells Vibranium martinis, Vibranium shots and a Vibranium sundae at the restaurant.

GRAYSLAKE – Save-A-Pet, a no-kill animal rescue and adoption center, is hosting a 50th anniversary celebration concert featuring music by Dr. Mark and the Sutures.

The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. May 15 at Lindy’s Landing, 115 Park St., Wauconda.

Dr. Mark and the Sutures is a Chicago-area band made up of North Shore physicians and businessmen who began playing music together as a hobby. They have since built a following, been featured on TV and radio and performed at large area venues.

Dr. Mark and the Sutures do limited performances for charities and fundraisers. Attendees can expect to enjoy covers of Beatles and Eagles hits while supporting Save-A-Pet’s lifesaving work.

In addition to the concert, the event will include raffle prizes, a buffet and a cash bar.

“We are grateful for the support of our friends who have kept our true no-kill mission a reality for 50 years and counting. We are excited to reminisce on our past and look forward to our future as we continue to save lives and connect our rescued cats and dogs to loving families,” Deb Rabine, Save-A-Pet development manager, said in a news release.

Tickets, which are $35, can be purchased on the Save-A-Pet website at saveapetil.org. Click on the link in the page header for “50th Anniversary Concert Tickets.”
