State Sen. Sue Rezin receives SGAC Leadership Award

Award is presented annually

State Senator Sue Rezin, R-Morris, was presented the State Government Affairs Council (SGAC) Leadership award during the annual National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) conference, Senior Communications Strategist Marcus J. Durrett said in a Thursday news release.

State Sen. Sue Rezin, R-Morris, was presented the State Government Affairs Council Leadership Award during the annual National Foundation for Women Legislators Conference.

The award celebrates Rezin’s dedication, excellence and vision in state government affairs, the state senator’s office said in a news release.

The SGAC Leadership Award, according to the release, was commissioned specifically for the organization and crafted by renowned American artist Michael Wainwright, has its design inspired by the domes of the nation’s capital, and symbolizes exceptional leadership and dedication to public service.

“I am truly honored to receive this prestigious award,” Rezin said in a news release. “Public service is a privilege, and I remain committed to working tirelessly for the people of Illinois. I am grateful to the State Government Affairs Council and National Foundation for Women Legislators for their commitment to recognizing and empowering leaders across the nation.”

The SGAC Leadership Award is presented annually to leaders in state government who demonstrate tireless efforts, steadfast commitment and an unwavering belief in the power of public service. Rezin’s receipt of this award highlights her influential contributions to the state of Illinois and her constituents, according to the release.
