Morris City Council cancelled Tuesday, city hall closed at 2 p.m. due to cold

Morris City Hall

A combination of cold weather, a non-functioning furnace and illnesses have caused the City of Morris to cancel its meeting Tuesday.

The city is also closing its offices at 2 p.m. due to the temperature in the building dropping.

The Morris City Council last met Monday, Dec. 16. Agenda items for the Tuesday meeting included paying the city’s bills for the month, approving a bid for a Huber Press Rail Hoist for the water treatment plant, and an adjustment to the city’s liquor license ordinance.

The city council isn’t scheduled to meet again until 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3.
