Chicago man dies in early morning crash on I-80 near Minooka

The Illinois State Police is investigating that occurred at 12:41 a.m. Monday on Interstate 80 westbound near Minooka Road after a semi hit a car that was traveling in the wrong direction on the one-way road.

The Grundy County Coroner’s Office said in a Friday news release that it identified the man as Kieth R. Oswald, 58, Chicago.

Oswald was pronounced dead at the scene, and the truck driver was taken to a hospital with injuries.

The Grundy County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police are investigating the crash further.
