Election judges needed in Grundy County

Grundy County needs election judges from both major political parties for the June 28 primary election.

“We are always looking for more election judges — there is definitely a need,” said Kristin Hall, a Grundy County election clerk.

We are in uncharted waters with a summer election,” Hall said.

Election judges can earn $180 per day after attending training and working election day. Judges are paid within a month of the election.

Election judge candidates are required to attend training classes every two years. The classes cover the duties and responsibilities of an election judge and provide instruction on how to use the equipment. An exam is given at the end of class.

The clerk’s office expects training will be held in person.

Election judges must live in Grundy County and be registered to vote in the next election. High school juniors and seniors with a cumulative grad point average of at least 3.0 are eligible.
