Morris Council approves permitting for Gun Club Road reconstruction

The Morris City Council approved an IDOT highway permit application Monday night in anticipation of a project that would see Gun Club Road completely reconstructed.

The city is receiving a $2 million grant from the State of Illinois for the project, which was announced in 2022.

Mayor Chris Brown said the permit was approved in committee Monday night, and the city is anticipating approval of the project at the April 7 meeting.
