City of Morris moves electric aggregation program to Eligo Energy

Residents and small business owners will pay exactly the ComEd rate

MORRIS – After a competitive bid process, the city of Morris is moving its electric aggregation program to Eligo Energy. Residents and small-business owners will pay exactly the ComEd rate. The program term is for one year ending October 2022.

The city received multiple bids, but all pricing was above the ComEd rate, City Public Information Officer Stan Knudson said in a news release. The city engaged a new program wherein no one will ever pay more than the ComEd rate. Based on complex usage patterns, a small number of accounts are selected to remain at ComEd, and all others will switch to Eligo Energy. All residents and small businesses will pay the exact same rate. The net effect is identical to all and zero added cost.

Residents are advised that they will continue receiving your bill from ComEd. Any payment plans that they have established will remain in place and will not change.

Notices were mailed to residents and small businesses Aug. 11.

Residents also are advised to be wary of solicitors. No one from Eligo Energy, ComEd or the city of Morris will ever visit your home or call you to enroll. If a solicitor claims to be either the city supplier, Eligo Energy or ComEd, take their information and report the incident to the Illinois Commerce Commission at www.icc.illinois.gov/complaints. Never reveal your ComEd account number or allow a solicitor to view your ComEd bill unless you are certain you wish to enroll with that supplier and have read all terms and conditions.

Those with questions about their electric account may call Eligo Energy at 815-305-7950.
