MORRIS — A Morris woman died following a crash at about 9 a.m. Thursday involving a semi-trailer on Route 47 in front of 9450 Route 47 in Dwight.
Grundy County Coroner John Callahan’s office along with Grundy Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash.
The coroner’s office said Friday, Christine E. Baker, 61, of Morris, was the deceased.
Callahan said a preliminary finding indicates a semi-tractor trailer was traveling northbound on Route 47 when a vehicle exited a driveway. The semi was unable to stop, striking the vehicle in the driver’s side.
The woman was traveling alone in the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner’s office said. The two individuals traveling in the semi-trailer didn’t go to the hospital and had minor injuries, according to police.
Dwight Fire/EMS assisted at the scene. The investigation continues with an examination scheduled for Friday.
