Area civic organizations and community-minded volunteers can help maintain the Aux Sable Cemetery, an area landmark, Saturday, March 26 on Brown Road north of Interstate 80 between Morris and Minooka.
While a small group of volunteers has worked over previous years to keep the grounds tidy, the cemetery Board of Trustees has identified some necessary cleanup that must take place which requires more hands than usual.
The Board of Trustees is calling on all clubs, businesses, churches, volunteer organizations, civic groups and interested individuals who could contribute anywhere from one to several hours starting at 9 a.m. for the first of what may become an annual cleanup effort.
Volunteers are asked to war work clothes, long-sleeved shirts, sturdy shoes and gloves and to bring hand trowels, rakes, shovels, weed trimmers, wheel barrows and other landscape tools. Water will be provided.
