Downers Grove co-op
Senior all-stater Gen Herion had two personal-best scores and the Downers Grove co-op girls gymnastics team increased the state’s season-high score to 145.80 in winning the Naperville North Invitational Saturday.
Herion won all-around (38.00) and floor exercise (9.55) with high-school bests and also won vault (9.675) and balance beam (9.375).
Edith Condon won uneven parallel bars (9.55) with Herion second (9.4) and was third in all-around (36.425). Kaelyn Landry was second on vault (9.375) and third on beam (9.05) and Caroline Phillip and Emilie Kuchta also were top-five medalists.
York was second (129.25) even with just three counting scores on uneven bars.
Melania Veselovsky was second in all-around (36.45) and beam (9.25) and third on vault (9.35), floor (9.15) and uneven bars (8.7). Hayley Schiltz was second on floor (9.175).
The Trostangs improved upon their state-best 144.55 from Dec. 19 and have three more performances higher than the No. 2 season best of 142.40 by St. Charles co-op Jan. 8. Lincoln-Way co-op (142.25) and New Trier (142.20) broke 142 in their respective Andrew and Lake Forest invitational victories Saturday.

Hayden Harden had 31 points and five rebounds for the Mustangs.
Glenbard West 34, York 31
Julia Benjamin scored 16 points to pace the Hilltoppers.

Blake Fagbemi scored 16 points, Daniel Pauliukonis 11 and Jayden Wright 10 for the Redwings.
