Burr Ridge Art Fair to debut outdoors

The inaugural Burr Ridge Art Fair will be held outdoors at Burr Ridge Village Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 19 and 20.

Taking place on the Village Green at the Burr Ridge Village Center – an outdoor center that features a variety of retail shops, restaurants and luxury living – the fair will feature something for everyone from art aficionados to casual shoppers. More than 100 artisans and makers will display and sell accessibly priced paintings, jewelry, furniture, clothing, skincare and home decor, according to a news release.

The event is produced by Amdur Productions, which has organized and directed many of the Midwest’s most prestigious juried art festivals.

“We’re so pleased to partner with Amdur Productions to bring the Art Fair to Burr Ridge in one of our first major events since 2020,” Ramzi Hassan, president of Edwards Realty Company, said in the release. “Everything we do at our center aims to blend community and culture, and this event is a prime example of those values. And our spacious Village Green is the opportune place to host an event like this in a safe manner.”

The Art Fair is also a great opportunity to support local businesses and artists who have been impacted by the pandemic, organizers stated.

The festival will be handicap-accessible and open to all ages. Guests will be required to wear masks and register to attend the festival within a specific time slot to help manage crowds. Registration is free and available at tinyurl.com/zh9y38yk.

In addition to shopping the thoughtfully curated selection of art, festival goers will have the opportunity to meet and engage with the artists to learn about their processes and motivations and to make a connection while shopping for signature items.

“The past year has been so challenging and dark for so many individuals and business owners. Through this outdoor fair, we’re bringing more light and color to our worlds by celebrating the fundamental human need in all of us to socialize and enjoy beautiful works of art,” Amy Amdur, president and CEO of Amdur Productions, stated in the release.

The event will be held at 701 Burr Ridge Parkway in Burr Ridge, and free garage parking will be available within Burr Ridge Village Center.
