The DuPage County Health Department on Sunday reported 256 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 4 deaths: 1 woman in her 60s, 1 man in his 80s and 2 women in their 90s.
The county now has seen a total of 57,741 coronavirus cases including 918 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Dec. 22 was 97.7%.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 11 consecutive days under 12%. The region’s positivity rate decreased to 9%. Currently, 24.7% of medical/surgical beds are available and 27.9% of ICU beds.
The region has 11 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability, and two consecutive days over the 20% threshold for medical/surgical bed availability.
Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average is at 10.6%, and DuPage County is at 8.3%.
Finally, within the DuPage/Kane region, there are 112 available, staffed ICU beds out of 324 total and 380 ventilators available out of 572.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,767 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 104 additional deaths Sunday.
The seven-day rolling average of Illinois’ positivity rate remained flat at 6.8%.
By town, Wheaton has had 3,072 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,173, Lombard 2,973, Villa Park 1,792, Hinsdale 867, Westmont 1,421, Darien 1,143, Woodridge 1,799, Downers Grove 2,590, Elmhurst 2,965, Warrenville 919 and Winfield 740. Addison has had 3,677 confirmed cases, Naperville 4,921, Carol Stream 3,134 and West Chicago 3,236.
