The DuPage County Health Department on Monday reported 407 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 10 deaths: 1 man in his 60s, 1 woman in her 70s, 2 women in their 80s, 3 men in their 80s, 1 woman in her 90s and 2 men in their 90s.
It was the most cases reported since Dec. 24.
The county now has seen a total of 58,148 coronavirus cases including 928 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Dec. 22 was 97.7%.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 11 consecutive days under 12%. The region’s positivity rate decreased to 8.7%. Currently, 27.0% of medical/surgical beds are available and 31.4% of ICU beds.
The region has 11 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability, and three consecutive days over the 20% threshold for medical/surgical bed availability.
Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average is at 10.6%, and DuPage County is at 7.9%.
Finally, within the DuPage/Kane region, there are 106 available, staffed ICU beds out of 324 total and 376 ventilators available out of 578.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 4,453 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 105 additional deaths Monday.
The seven-day rolling average of Illinois’ positivity rate increased from 6.8% to 7.2%.
By town, Wheaton has had 3,099 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,183, Lombard 2,989, Villa Park 1,806, Hinsdale 888, Westmont 1,436, Darien 1,159, Woodridge 1,809, Downers Grove 2,625, Elmhurst 2,984, Warrenville 923 and Winfield 747. Addison has had 3,690 confirmed cases, Naperville 4,945, Carol Stream 3,155 and West Chicago 3,258.
