The DuPage County Health Department on Saturday reported 342 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 4 deaths: 1 woman in her 40s, 1 man in his 60s, 1 woman in her 90s and 1 man in his 90s.
The county now has seen a total of 62,987 coronavirus cases including 1,020 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Jan. 5 was 98.0%.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 11 consecutive days under 12%. The region’s positivity rate remained flat at 10.5%. Currently, 14.3% of medical/surgical beds are available and 21.9% of ICU beds.
The region has 11 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability, and four consecutive days under the 20% threshold for medical/surgical bed availability.
Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average is at 12.4%, and DuPage County is at 9.5%.
Finally, within the DuPage/Kane region, there are 73 available, staffed ICU beds out of 328 total and 359 ventilators available out of 581.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 6,717 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 101 additional deaths Saturday.
The seven-day rolling average of Illinois’ positivity rate decreased to 8.3%.
By town, Wheaton has had 3,357 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,376, Lombard 3,260, Villa Park 1,956, Hinsdale 980, Westmont 1,593, Darien 1,284, Woodridge 1,993, Downers Grove 2,927, Elmhurst 3,269, Warrenville 1,011 and Winfield 820. Addison has had 3,929 confirmed cases, Naperville 5,318, Carol Stream 3,441 and West Chicago 3,496.
