The DuPage County Health Department on Saturday reported 327 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 5 deaths: 2 men in their 70s, 1 woman in her 80s, 1 man in his 80s and 1 man in his 90s.
The county now has seen a total of 67,124 coronavirus cases including 1,081 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Jan. 12 was 98.0%.
DuPage County has administered 53,310 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 14,896 residents, or 1,60% of the total population, has been fully vaccinated.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen three days under 8%. The region’s positivity rate decreased to 7.6%. Currently, 30% of ICU beds are available.
The region has 41 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability.
Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average fell to 8.3%, and DuPage County’s decreased to 7.2%.
Hospitalizations have decreased six out of the past 10 days in this region.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 5,152 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 97 additional confirmed deaths Saturday.
By town, Wheaton has had 3,609 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,556, Lombard 3,498, Villa Park 2,093, Hinsdale 1,065, Westmont 1,699, Darien 1,383, Woodridge 2,101, Downers Grove 3,164, Elmhurst 3,461, Warrenville 1,074 and Winfield 860. Addison has had 4,156 confirmed cases, Naperville 5,680, Carol Stream 3,641 and West Chicago 3,711.
