The DuPage County Health Department on Sunday reported 117 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 1 death, a woman in her 30s.
It is the fewest single-day cases since Dec. 18.
The county now has seen a total of 67,241 coronavirus cases including 1,082 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Jan. 12 was 98.0%.
DuPage County has administered 54,655 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 15,012 people, or 1.62% of the county’s total population, have been fully vaccinated.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen four consecutive days under 8%, and zero days under the 6.5% threshold. The region’s positivity rate decreased to 7.2%. Currently, 30% of ICU beds are available.
The region has 42 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability.
Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average fell to 8.0%, and DuPage County’s fell to 6.8%.
Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable six out of the past 10 days in this region.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,292 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 40 additional deaths Sunday, and a total of 681,473 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.
By town, Wheaton has had 3,617 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,559, Lombard 3,505, Villa Park 2,097, Hinsdale 1,068, Westmont 1,701, Darien 1,388, Woodridge 2,105, Downers Grove 3,172, Elmhurst 3,468, Warrenville 1,077 and Winfield 862. Addison has had 4,159 confirmed cases, Naperville 5,682, Carol Stream 3,646 and West Chicago 3,725.
