The DuPage County Health Department on Monday reported 169 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 3 deaths: 1 woman in her 70s, 1 man in his 70s and 1 woman in her 100s.
It is the second consecutive day of fewer than 200 cases reported.
The county now has seen a total of 67,410 coronavirus cases including 1,085 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Jan. 12 was 98.0%.
DuPage County has administered 55,520 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 15,138 people, or 1.63% of the county’s population, have been fully vaccinated.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen four consecutive days below 8% and zero days below the 6.5% threshold. The region’s positivity rate increased to 7.3%. Currently, 30% of ICU beds are available.
The region has 43 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability.
Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average increased to 8.1%, and DuPage County’s remained flat at 6.8%.
Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable six out of the past 10 days in this region.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,944 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 49 additional deaths Monday, and a total of 692,763 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.
IDPH also announced that Region 8 (Kane/DuPage counties) and Region 9 (Lake/McHenry counties) are “on track” to advance to Tier 1 of the state’s mitigations, which would open up indoor dining in those regions and allow for scrimmages for higher-risk high school sports.
By town, Wheaton has had 3,627 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,569, Lombard 3,516, Villa Park 2,105, Hinsdale 1,071, Westmont 1,703, Darien 1,391, Woodridge 2,109, Downers Grove 3,187, Elmhurst 3,479, Warrenville 1,080 and Winfield 866. Addison has had 4,164 confirmed cases, Naperville 5,698, Carol Stream 3,654 and West Chicago 3,733.
