The DuPage County Health Department on Saturday reported 187 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 4 deaths: 1 woman in her 60s, 1 woman in her 70s, 1 man in his 70s and 1 man in his 90s.
The county now has seen a total of 68,493 coronavirus cases including 1,107 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Jan. 26 was 98.1%.
DuPage County has administered 68,934 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 19,260 residents, or 2.07% of the population, has been fully vaccinated.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen zero consecutive days at or under 6.5%. The region’s positivity rate increased to 7.2%. Currently, 29% of ICU beds are available.
The region has 48 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability.
Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average is at 8.2% and DuPage County is at 6.6%.
Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable for 10 out of the last 10 days in this region.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,345 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 65 additional deaths Saturday, and a total of 1,333,475 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.
By town, Wheaton has had 3,667 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,588, Lombard 3,557, Villa Park 2,132, Hinsdale 1,101, Westmont 1,737, Darien 1,414, Woodridge 2,128, Downers Grove 3,238, Elmhurst 3,520, Warrenville 1,089 and Winfield 883. Addison has had 4,195 confirmed cases, Naperville 5,794, Carol Stream 3,683 and West Chicago 3,769.
