DuPage County reports 95 COVID-19 cases Sunday, 4 deaths, 4.55% of population fully vaccinated

The DuPage County Health Department on Sunday reported 95 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 4 deaths: 2 men in their 80s and 2 women in their 90s.

The county now has seen a total of 71,286 coronavirus cases including 1,183 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Feb. 9 was 98.2%.

DuPage County has administered 153,851 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 42,250 people, or 4.55% of the population, have been fully vaccinated.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 32 consecutive days under 8%. The region’s positivity rate remained stable at 4.3%. Currently, 32% of ICU beds are available.

The region has 70 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability.

Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average is at 4.6%, and DuPage County is at 4.1%.

Hospitalizations have decreased 10 out of the past 10 days in this region.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,585 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 35 additional deaths Sunday, and a total of 2,151,952 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.

By town, Wheaton has had 3,815 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,717, Lombard 3,738, Villa Park 2,226, Hinsdale 1,166, Westmont 1,804, Darien 1,484, Woodridge 2,214, Downers Grove 3,419, Elmhurst 3,655, Warrenville 1,112 and Winfield 923. Addison has had 4,320 confirmed cases, Naperville 6,174, Carol Stream 3,808 and West Chicago 3,880.
