DuPage County reports 200 COVID-19 cases Thursday, 4 deaths, 13.31% of population fully vaccinated

The DuPage County Health Department on Thursday reported 200 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 4 deaths: 2 women in their 70s, 1 man in his 80s and 1 man in his 90s.

The county now has seen a total of 79,486 coronavirus cases including 1,279 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of March 9 was 98.3%.

DuPage County has administered 332,515 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 123,640 people, or 13.31% of the population, have been fully vaccinated.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 57 consecutive days under 8%. The region’s positivity rate decreased to 3.8%. Currently, 32% of ICU beds are available.

The region has 95 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability.

Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average increased to 3.8% and DuPage County stayed flat at 3.9%.

Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable for eight out of the past 10 days in this region.

IDPH reported 2,325 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 34 additional deaths Thursday, and a total of 4,375,171 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.

By town, Wheaton has had 4,220 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,985, Lombard 4,060, Villa Park 2,428, Hinsdale 1,354, Westmont 2,010, Darien 1,700, Woodridge 2,517, Downers Grove 4,105, Elmhurst 4,102, Warrenville 1,234 and Winfield 1,034. Addison has had 4,638 confirmed cases, Naperville 7,389, Carol Stream 4,196 and West Chicago 4,205.
