The DuPage County Health Department on Saturday reported 168 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with no deaths.
The county now has seen a total of 79,861 coronavirus cases including 1,281 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of March 16 was 98.3%.
DuPage County has administered 352,059 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 128,947 people, or 13.89% of the population, have been fully vaccinated.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 59 consecutive days under 8%. The region’s positivity rate increased to 4.0%. Currently, 31% of ICU beds are available.
Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average increased to 3.8% and DuPage County stayed at 4.0%.
Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable for seven out of the past 10 days in this region.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,962 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 25 additional deaths Saturday. A total of 4,631,122 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.
By town, Wheaton has had 4,233 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,993, Lombard 4,072, Villa Park 2,439, Hinsdale 1,364, Westmont 2,017, Darien 1,708, Woodridge 2,535, Downers Grove 4,123, Elmhurst 4,144, Warrenville 1,238 and Winfield 1,042. Addison has had 4,654 confirmed cases, Naperville 7,427, Carol Stream 4,228 and West Chicago 4,216.
