The DuPage County Health Department on Thursday reported 199 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 2 deaths: 1 male in his 70s and 1 male in his 90s.
The county now has seen a total of 80,723 coronavirus cases including 1,287 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of March 16 was 98.3%.
DuPage County has administered 404,248 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 147,664 people, or 15.90% of the population, have been fully vaccinated.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 64 consecutive days below 8%. The region’s positivity rate increased to 4.3%. Currently, 30% of ICU beds are available.
Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average stayed flat at 3.8% and DuPage County’s increased to 4.6%.
Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable for eight out of the past 10 days in this region.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,190 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 35 additional deaths Thursday, and a total of 5,154,908 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.
For Wednesday, the state administered 118,544 shots.
By town, Wheaton has had 4,288 total cases, Glen Ellyn 3,031, Lombard 4,112, Villa Park 2,455, Hinsdale 1,389, Westmont 2,038, Darien 1,726, Woodridge 2,565, Downers Grove 4,181, Elmhurst 4,209, Warrenville 1,252 and Winfield 1,059. Addison has had 4,693 confirmed cases, Naperville 7,516, Carol Stream 4,281 and West Chicago 4,229.
