The DuPage County Health Department on Wednesday reported 220 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 1 death, a woman in her 70s.
The county now has seen a total of 81,882 coronavirus cases including 1,293 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of March 23 was 98.3%.
DuPage County has administered 456,083 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 166,397 people, or 17.92% of the population, have been fully vaccinated.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,592 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 28 additional deaths Wednesday, and a total of 5,801,871 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen a 70 consecutive days below 8%. The region’s positivity rate increased slightly to 5.4%. Currently, 32% of ICU beds are available.
Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average increased to 5.3% and DuPage County’s increased slightly to 5.4%.
Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable for five out of the past 10 days in this region.
By town, Wheaton has had 4,372 total cases, Glen Ellyn 3,084, Lombard 4,194, Villa Park 2,486, Hinsdale 1,419, Westmont 2,064, Darien 1,750, Woodridge 2,607, Downers Grove 4,244, Elmhurst 4,283, Warrenville 1,271 and Winfield 1,082. Addison has had 4,749 confirmed cases, Naperville 7,652, Carol Stream 4,332 and West Chicago 4,260.
