High school sports roundup for Saturday, Feb. 20: Timothy Christian’s Josh Harris scores 1,000th career point

BOYS BASKETBALL

Timothy Christian 70, Westmont 40

Josh Harris scored 24 points, including his 1,000th career point, with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals and Ben VanderWal added 15 for the Trojans. Tyler Jarvis scored 11 for Westmont.

Notre Dame 71, Fenwick 68 (OT)

Louis Lesmond hit a halfcourt shot the buzzer, giving Notre Dame a 71-68 overtime win over Fenwick. Lesmond scored 35 points and Anthony Sayles 20 for Notre Dame. Kentucky recruit Bryce Hopkins scored 22 to pace Fenwick.

Hinsdale Central 68, Proviso East 55

Charlie Sessa scored 24 points, Quinn Cain added 15 and Jake Quast had 13 for the Red Devils.

Riverside-Brookfield 65, Aurora Central Catholic 39

JP Hanley scored 16 points, Joe Gihooley added 10 and 11 players scored for the Bulldogs (5-1).

Bishop McNamara 69, IC Catholic Prep 61

John Hilgart had 13 points and eight rebounds, Danny Roberto eight points and Liam Johnson eight points for the Knights (3-3, 3-2).

Proviso West 58, Willowbrook 47

Noah Campbell and Amaris Hughes each scored 12 for the Warriors.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Benet 61, Joliet Catholic 49

Kendall Moriarty scored 18 points and Morgan Demos 12 for Benet.

Willowbrook 67, Proviso West 38

Sophie Sullivan had 16 points, nine assists and nine rebounds, Taris Thornton had 16 points and nine rebounds and Calli Kenny 16 points and seven rebounds for Willowbrook.

Timothy Christian 54, Glenbard East 26

Hannah Schuringa scored 23 points, and Maddie Drye added 12 and helped hold Glenbard East leading scorer Lauren Huber to just four points. Grace Roland added 10 points and the Trojans held the Rams to 21% shooting.

Glenbard West 39, Hinsdale South 23

Anastasia Andrianopoulos scored 11 points and Kennedy Brandt added 10 for the Hilltoppers.
