Wheaton North sophomore forward Jane Rogers, who scored 30 goals and had 21 assists in helping lead the Falcons to DuKane Conference and regional titles, and a sectional final, is the Suburban Life girls soccer Player of the Year.

Lyons nearly pulled off quite an offensive challenge with at least five quality shots – even during a driving first-half rain – but New Trier beat the Lions 1-0 in the Class 3A Dominican University Supersectional Tuesday for the Trevians' state record 17th shutout.

Burlington Central scored five goals in the second half to break out of a scoreless halftime game, and beat Wheaton Academy 5-0 in the Class 2A Hinsdale South Supersectional to end the Warriors' unbeaten season and reach the state semifinals.

After scoring two first half goals, St. Charles North held firm against Wheaton North’s increased second half offensive pressure to win Saturday’s Class 3A South Elgin Sectional championship, 2-1.

Wheaton Academy turned two Elly Andrews free kicks into goals, and went on to a 3-0 win over St. Francis in Saturday's Class 2A Lemont Sectional final.

A short turnaround after Friday night prom didn't affect Lyons at all. Caroline Mortonson gave her team a jolt by scoring two goals in the first seven minutes and second-seeded LT rolled to a 2-0 win over top-seeded York in Saturday's Class 3A Hinsdale Central Sectional final.
