Analisa Raffaelli is the 2024 Suburban Life Softball Player of the Year.

Senior shortstop and Colgate recruit Analisa Raffaelli of sectional champion IC Catholic Prep was named Class 2A All-State first team by the Illinois Coaches Association, leading area players earning All-State recognition in voting released this past weekend.

Sophie Stone struck out 10 in five innings of relief and Fenwick scored all of its runs in the bottom of the third, as the Friars beat Waterloo 4-2 to capture third place in the Class 3A state tournament for the highest finish in school history.

The Friars prevailed 2-1 in Lisle for the program’s first downstate berth since 1988 and only second overall. Fenwick (17-9) plays Pontiac (29-7) in the 3A state semifinals at 10 a.m. Friday in Peoria.

The season ended for the Lemont softball team on Monday with a 7-0 loss to Pontiac.
