Montini Catholic High School welcomes new teachers

Montini Catholic High School in Lombard welcomes six new faculty and staff members and two returning faculty members to its team of Lasallian educators. Joining the school’s faculty and staff team this year are:

Jennifer Baron - as Spanish teacher in the World Language Department. She joins the Bronco family after teaching at Valparaiso High School and Robert Frost Junior High School. Baron holds a bachelor’s degree from North Central College.

Marika Brousianou - as a member of the Fine Art Department, teaching art. Though this will be Brousianou’s first foray into high school teaching, she holds a bachelor’s degree from Deere College and a master of fine arts degree from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Kristen Carr - as the school social worker. Carr comes to Montini with 10 years of experience at Reavis High School, Liberty Junior High and Grand Prairie/Chelsea Intermediate School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Governors State University and a master’s degree from Loyola University Chicago.

Brian Hyland - as a member of the counseling department. Hyland began his career at Olympia High School in Stanford, Ill.. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Augustana College and a master’s degree from Northern Illinois University.

Alexxis Johnson - who served as a long-term maternity leave substitute teacher during the 2020-21 school year, returns to Montini as a teacher in the English department. She also will moderate the student government program. Johnson earned her degree from the University of Illinois and started her career at Our Lady of Peace.

Katie Marchese - returns to the Montini mathematics department on a part-time basis. She previously taught at Montini for seven years. She holds degrees from Illinois State University and the University of Phoenix.

DeAndre McCamey - as a member of the mathematics department. McCamey taught for five years at St. Joseph High School in Westchester and earned his degree from the University of Southern Indiana.

Mollee Thermos - as a Spanish teacher in the world language department. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree from National-Louis University.
