The Lyons Township High School Class of 2025 spent the day at South Campus before their first official day of the 2021-22 school year.
Incoming freshmen gathered for Freshman Experience Day at South Campus on Aug. 16 to become familiar with South Campus, faculty, staff and students, a news release stated. School began for all students Aug. 19.
The freshmen had South Campus all to themselves. They were divided into small groups, all led by upperclassmen and supervised by an adult staff member. The small groups discussed LT traditions, along with what freshmen should expect during the next four years of being an LT Lion. Presentations from administrators were scheduled, as well as team-building activities, and tours of South Campus.
Freshman Experience Day is designed as a great way for the incoming freshmen to get comfortable with a new school and with the idea of being a high school student at LT. The day is an LT tradition intended to make the transition from middle school to high school a little bit easier.
